Principles for Selecting Specialization Tracks Department of Software Engineering

Principles for Selecting Specialization Tracks Department of Software Engineering !!!

1. Students enrolled in the Software Engineering program at the Faculty of Engineering at TED University may begin taking courses from one of the offered specialization tracks after completing their fourth semester. No formal application will be collected by the Department of Software Engineering during the selection process.

2. Alternative courses for fulfilling the minimum requirement of four courses within each specialization track are presented in the table below. In order for a specialization track to be indicated in the Diploma Supplement, students must complete the courses belonging to that specialization track by the time of graduation.

3. Students may also choose not to select any specialization track. In this case, the courses indicated in the curriculum as “Department Track” will be taken as Departmental Electives, and students may complete their course requirements by selecting any course from any specialization track. In such cases, no specialization track will be indicated in the student’s Diploma Supplement.

4. Courses offered by the Department of Computer Engineering that are not included in the Software Engineering curriculum (only courses with 3xx or 4xx course codes) may be accepted as Software Engineering Departmental Electives, provided that they are requested as such and approved by the Department of Software Engineering.

5. The Department Chair determines which courses within the specialization tracks will be offered each semester by considering factors such as the number of faculty members, their areas of expertise, research fields, laboratory facilities, and the overall departmental workload. The proposed course offerings are then submitted to the Faculty Administrative Board for final approval.
