KAAN, Turkey’s fifth-generation fighter jet for which our esteemed faculty member Dr. Deniz CANTÜRK provides technical consultancy, is equipped not only with advanced aviation technologies but also with cutting-edge, locally developed solutions in digital user interfaces and graphical infrastructure.

As part of the project, the cockpit system’s pilot interface design is being transferred to graphic processing units (GPUs), aiming to deliver a faster, smoother, and more interactive pilot experience.

In these efforts, graphics APIs such as OpenGL and Vulkan have been re-adapted to suit modern GPU architectures. This graphical infrastructure has been integrated into the GzIS real-time operating system developed by TÜBİTAK, offering a significant contribution to the national software ecosystem.

Areas of Technical Consultancy by Dr. CANTÜRK:

  • Transferring the pilot interface to the GPU
  • Adaptation of OpenGL/Vulkan technologies
  • Integration of graphics drivers into the GzIS operating system
  • Optimization of real-time rendering performance
  • Integration of video sources into the cockpit system

In this high-level engineering process, comprehensive optimization work is being carried out to enhance system graphics performance and ensure uninterrupted video transmission. The expert engineers involved in the project continue to contribute to the digital transformation of the domestic defense industry.

We congratulate our esteemed faculty member for his outstanding work.
